Don’t stay in Brooklyn. Stay in manhattan. What’s the point of visiting New York City to “see the sites”, if you’re going to spend 1hr minimum each day underground on the train? Get a hotel in the Manhattan. That way you can walk right into the city you expect to see when you visit NYC :)

I usually stay in Brooklyn when I visit NYC. There are lots of hotels, and B&Bs. Even Brooklyn is not cheap tho. The hotel I will use for this trip will be $200/nite for 3 in a room.
