30 cze 2022 · The current report updates the 1977–2020 alcohol consumption trends (Slater and Alpert 2022) with new data for 2021. Data are shown in four tables. Table 1 presents national data on trends in beer, wine, and spirits consumption as well as on all alcoholic beverages combined.
According to the 2017 Texas Survey of Substance Abuse Among College Students (TSCS), 79% of Texas college students reported ever using alcohol, 73% reported using alcohol in the past year, and 58% reported using alcohol in the past month (TSCS, 2017).

Alcohol Use. According to the 2018 Texas School Survey of Drug and Alcohol Use (TSS), 52% of Texas middle and high school students have used alcohol at least once in their lifetime and 29% say they drank alcohol in the past month (Figure 2).

Approximately 41% of drinkers have increased the amount of alcohol they consume since arriving at college.
Alcohol Abuse Statistics. Most American adults consume alcohol at least once in their lifetime. Among them, 6.7% will develop Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). 10.2% of Americans aged 12 years and older had Alcohol Use Disorder in 2020.
Underage students frequently obtained alcohol from others: 61% of drinkers obtained alcohol from a friend who was over 21 (this represents a signi cant decrease from 2019 (68%), 56% report that they obtained alcohol from a parent or relative, and 28% obtained alcohol from a friend who was under 21 themselves (a signi cant decline
