StarCraft II Editor Guides. This repository is hosting the tutorials originally hosted by Blizzard Entertainment for the Starcraft 2 Editor. Now maintained and improved by the SC2Mapster community.
This site provides some in-depth guides for map and mode developments on Starcraft II. Most of the guides here elaborate on working with the plain text data formats used by Starcraft II, along with some other complex parts of the Galaxy Editor. The tools and references here ease the developments.

Maps organize a single game type into a single file, combining terrain, code, and data. Whenever you play a game of StarCraft, you’re launching a map file. All maps have at least some data running under the surface. Melee maps have a very basic set of default game instructions contained in the file.
The map editor is being designed to handle third-person shooting maps. Blizzard was able to design an old-fashioned "Lost Vikings" top-scrolling space shooter game within the editor. The map editor can create new HUDs, quest interfaces and dialogue.
