Open Church Hours. SS Charles & Helena Church is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday for personal prayer. Adoration ~ Thursdays in the day chapel, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. We are looking for volunteers to sign up for one hour increments.
I'm blessed to be the pastor of Holy Name of Mary Parish which is comprised of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and St. Anthony Church in Helena. We are also blessed to have a Catholic school (Our Lady of Lake Huron)- the only Catholic school in the Thumb of Michigan.
Our History. In 1924, the original parishioners of St. Helena attended Sunday Mass in a row home on Fairhill St. As the number of Mass attendees grew, a bigger venue became necessary. Through the kindness of its owner, the Olney movie theater was transformed into a place of worship on Sundays.
