12 gru 2021 · The easiest way to see them (I believe) is to drive down 83 until you get to Dakota Street. Turn left on Dakota, which is across from the Keystone Art Gallery. Then take a left on County Road 450. Take a right on County Road East (Or Elk on Maps) (450 turns into County Road East if I recall).
The monument rocks are tucked away and off the beaten path, but if you keep driving you’ll find them. They are nice to look at and walk around for a bit. It was windy and cold which seemed to keep the crowds away, which I preferred.
Monument Rocks (also Chalk Pyramids) are a series of large chalk formations in Gove County, Kansas, rich in fossils. The formations were the first landmark in Kansas chosen by the U.S. Department of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark.

10 lip 2021 · Directions to Monument Rocks outside Grinnell, Kansas. From I-70, take exit 76. Drive along US Hwy 40, towards Oakley for two miles and turn left onto US Hwy 83. Drive for about 15 miles until you see the large billboard pointing your way to Monument Rocks. Turn left onto Jayhawk Road.
22 sty 2024 · Castle Rock is about an hour east of Monument Rocks, or 30 minutes south of Quinter, Kansas. Like at Monument Rocks, exploration is always self-guided. Do not climb on or touch the fragile rock formations!
