Well, this week I'm unveiling a 1:1400 scaled version of the SS America Ocean Liner. This ships has had its name changed 9 times before it ended up broken up by the waves of the Atlantic near on the Canary Islands. This LEGO® MOC was designed, created and rendered by The Bobby Brix Channel in 2023.
The Glencoe 1/400 SS United States kit has been around for a while. The molds were originally developed by the Ideal Toy Company in 1954. The original kit was molded in the appropriate colors and pre-painted to allow for quick assembly.
The SS United States is currently a retired Ocean Liner sitting and rusting in the docks of Philadelphia waiting for it’s complete destruction or a miracle… This MOC is at a scale of 1:1400 and of relative size with the RMS Queen Mary and the RMS Titanic, among other ships in my collection.
