29 lip 2017 · I want to remove my SRAM Guide RS rear brake (to replace it with Shimanos). The frame has internal routing, so I need to keep the DOT fluid from coming out of the cable when pulling them through the frame.
SRAM brake systems need to be serviced periodically to optimize braking function. If brake fluid is leaking from any area of the brake there may be damage or wear and tear to the internal moving parts.
Servicing your brakes removes all of the brake fluid from the system. You must bleed your brakes after you service the brake system. Consult the SRAM MTB Disc Brake Hose Shortening and Bleed Manual at www.sram.com/service. NOTICE The Guide caliper must be serviced before the lever.
9 kwi 2022 · I am replacing the shifters on my 2014 Synapse Carbon which has internally routed cables. I have replaced the rear shifter cable a few times and found the easiest way to do that was to use the housing liners as guides. However, this is not easily done with brakes.
3 lip 2014 · Using a tandem length cable should leave you with plenty of exposed cable. Overlap the hydro hose and the exposed cable a few inches and then wrap snugly in high quality electrical tape. Pull everything through the frame gently and simply unwrap the tape to separate the cable and the hose.
For best results, use only SRAM High-Performance DOT 5.1 brake fluid. If SRAM brake fluid is not available, only use DOT 5.1 or 4 brake fluid. Use only DOT compatible grease. Always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves when working with DOT brake fluid.
11 lip 2017 · I can remember claims of some SRAM shifters that supposedly had the same 3mm cable pull for all shifts, working with some Campy drivetrain. By my tests, the RD position would be off by a full cog after only 4 shifts.
