31 mar 2014 · Open the download list popup, right click on a PDF download from the list and select the option to Always open with the system viewer. This works if want only downloaded PDFs to open in your external PDF viewer (Adobe Acrobat, Foxit Reader, etc.), you don't need to disable the Chrome PDF Viewer.
Open Chrome and type "chrome://plugins" without the quotes in the omnibox/url/search bar. Click Enable under the Chrome PDF Viewer. If you need to, restart chrome for it to take effect.
19 wrz 2015 · Enter URL: chrome://plugins/. Disable the “Chrome PDF viewer”. Click on a PDF link. This will ask you to download the file. Do that. In the download tray at the bottom now right click on the file and select “Always open with system viewer.”.
18 mar 2024 · It appears the issue stemmed from a specific Adobe Acrobat setting in the Preferences - General tab, related to automatically opening PDFs in Chrome. Despite Chrome settings indicating otherwise, Adobe's setting overrode it. Clearing user preferences from the registry resolved the problem.
