I am utterly confused about how to practice SQL offline. All tutorials are just on creating queries, nothing about how to actually set up SQL on your system (or why you'd even need to). My needs are pretty simple, could anyone help me with them?
I used all of his video series for my SQL, programming and Business Intelligence classes. Besides SQL for Mere Mortals I like Murach's SQL Server and Murach's mySQL. Again both have databases for you to download and practice queries with solutions.
Generally speaking, as others have said, I find looking up videos or specific technical documentation to be a great way to learn specific tasks I need to do; however, the benefit of a book is that it may introduce you to concepts you didn't know existed and wouldn't have known to look up.
