25 lut 2013 · I recently bought a VLTOR / Springfield Armory Socom Cluster rail system for my Socom 16. Decided after installing it that the barrel mounted Socom 16 mount was the way to go for me. I think VLTOR should have made it like the ARMS SIR System with a metal upper...and a synthetic lower.

23 wrz 2010 · The SOCOM II features six-inch slotted rails at three and nine o'clock and a 10-inch rail section underneath. These rails also give you options for affixing a sling to the rifle. I first started the rifle with a Trijicon 1-4x24, the scope shown in the photos.
7 lut 2007 · The SOCOM 16 has a standard type M14 handguard with a cutout for a picatinny rail. The SOCOM II has the four side VLTOR rail. I have a SOCOM II and just picked up the handguard and fwd picatinny rail from a SOCOM 16 for $100. I wanted the SOCOM 16, but got a trade deal for the SOCOM II.
10 paź 2009 · I had a SOCOM II and found it to be too muzzle heavy with that huge rail system for my taste. The SOCOM without the rail system would be fine but I went with the Scout and had a Carbon Fiber stock installed.

25 lis 2010 · I've read that the first models of the SOCOM 16 and SOCOM II had issues and were not even made by Springfield Armory but instead by some other sister company. Does anyone have lots of knowledge regarding these rifles and have any input regarding the SOCOM II and which model to buy?
