13 gru 2016 · PHPExcel has been maintained as a library for working with spreadsheet files for many years now, and has been shackled by retaining support for older versions of PHP (>= 5.2) making it very difficult to move forward and improve it. It is a stable library, but will not be developed any further.
18 paź 2020 · PHPExcel & PHPSpreadsheet. The main difference between these two is that PHPSpreadsheet is the upgraded version of PHPExcel. PHPSpreadsheet contains the latest features introduced in the newer version of the PHP i.e., v5.5.
PhpSpreadsheet is the next version of PHPExcel. It breaks compatibility to dramatically improve the code base quality (namespaces, PSR compliance, use of latest PHP language features, etc.). Because all efforts have shifted to PhpSpreadsheet, PHPExcel will no longer be maintained.
7 cze 2018 · Unfortunately PHPExcel and PHPSpreadsheet are not very performant for large files. Your options are pretty limited: Keep increasing the memory limit; Chunk data into separate spreadsheets; Fallback to CSV (using PHP's built in functions)
PHPExcel is a great library and has been my go-to for Excel file manipulation. we currently use it to generate an excel file with something like 100 columns, 100k rows, with complex forumlas in a third of those columns.
