There's an utility called Battlefield CD Key Manager which allows you to save/change and encrypt BF2/142 key in registry (so you don't need to use a whole patch if you want to keep your CD-Key protected).
Double click default in the right window and change the string into the x9392 format that is required. I found 2 additional places (total of 4) that needed to be changed (used the same key for all of them).
28 mar 2013 · I tried opening 'regedit' and replacing the string of nonsense in the ergc for both BF2 and BF2SF with the key that was shown in Origin. I tried the BF2KeyChanger application provided by GermanDarkness, as many people reported it was successful in fixing their problems.
Even tried my bf2142 key, yet again "cd key not valid" . Also tried a cd key changer that seems to properly update my registry all the same. It won't work.
I have completely removed the hooky version and re-installed via disk and patched following Gmodism's guide, entered the legit CD-key from the back of the manual. However, I still get the CD-Key invalid error when trying to join a server! TL;DR. Torrented BF2, used non-legit keys, got CD-Key error.
Just install BF2 Complete Collection (v1.5) and use a cd key (you can find it on internet) with "bf2 cd key changer from germandarknes". then install "BF2HUB" client and register/backup cd key for your account. Features: - You can use any bf2 cd key from internet. - 90+ servers are active.
13 lip 2010 · If you use Battlefield2-code in your Bf2/Supprot directory, you can change you're CD-KEY without reinstalling. However, you need to re-apply vBf2 1.5 patch to get it working if memory serves me correctly.
