18 kwi 2020 · I just sprayed a 2-tone bed on a '85 long bed Chevrolet. I sprayed the bed with the main tan color, then sprayed 3 coats of Universal. It sat for 2-3 weeks, then was sanded with 400 and the red middle color was sprayed and 3 more coats of Universal. Sat 2 more weeks, then I started sanding to buff with 1200 on a semi firm hand pad.

24 lip 2012 · I talked to Barry at SPI and gave him my background and told him what I wanted to do with his clear. I was shooting a $80k muscle car for a customer. He suggested I use the universal clear, which is a high solids clear. I ordered a gallon of clear and 4 quarts of the activator. It mixes 1:1.

4 wrz 2014 · There are a lot of good low priced clears out there. SPI is just one of. them that seems to be better, that doesn't make the others bad. I don't care what's on the label. Be it SPI, PPG, DuPont, or Costco. If it works, I'll use it. I've not tried SPI yet, but may do so on Ol' Blue. I just wish they could mix OEM colors.
