I used the textbook: Precalculus: Mathematics for Calculus by Stewart, Redlin, and Watson. This textbook is great because it makes itself easy to understand, has a LOT of practice problems for every lesson, and has chapter tests at the end so you can test your knowledge.
You are comparing your raw score to the CLEP scale score. CLEP raw scores are converted into a scale score to account for differences in exams (not every person gets the same questions). A 50 on a CLEP scale score is very roughly equivalent to a 70% correct on a practice exam.
