20 sie 2014 · I would advance that cam 4° to put it on a 105 ICL and use 1.6 full roller rockers. Drill the pushrod holes out to 1/2". Then use the 0.016" rubber embossed steel shim head gaskets to increase the compression ratio and make the quench distance more ideal.

Flat tappet hydraulic cam works GREAT in a Vortec engine. For a budget performance build I actually prefer the flat tappet cams. Flat tappet cams squeeze more duration under less lift, meaning more HP without having to modify the heads.
Im running a 98 tahoe PCM swaped into a 1997 silverado 5.7L L31 vortec with only upgrade being a ZZ4 cam. You can pick up ALOT from the stock tune. First thing i always do is disable torque management and get the trans shifting nice then id go after tuning the fuel tables.
