The Daniel Defense M4A1 FSP features the M4A1 FSP RIS II, which has been in use by US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD Block II program since 2005. The M4A1 FSP features a 14.5” Cold Hammer Forged M4 Profile barrel with a Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor.
Block 2 with FSP: Retained the front sight post of the original M4; Slightly shorter handguard than the standard Block 2; Maintained a more traditional appearance while offering enhanced functionality; The key difference between the two Block 2 versions is the presence or absence of the front sight post.

18 lis 2019 · Going Block II would give me a few things like a free floated hand guard, the ability to run a Surefire can, and EO-Tech becomes an option, ect. Not only that, there is a FSP (front sight post) version of the Block II SOPMODS. All that said, if your build is an as issued build, then you’re pretty limited to what you’re going to run.

There are two distinct "blocks" as identified by NSWC-Crane PowerPoints as the primary source of information, however, there was a "transitional period" of several years in which carbines with items from both blocks were used.
