I'm trying to utilized the physical thread feature in SE 2024. I would prefer to add it to a 1-11.5 NPT pipe thread, but I've tried all the options and the physical thread box always remains greyed out.
Two new options have been added to the “Thread” command to help users define physical thread clearance when designing parts to be 3D printed. These new options allow users to enter additional clearance values by percentage orby an absolute value.
I'm using Solid Edge to design my 3d parts. When I use the built in thread tools, the fit between the male and female threads is such that the physical print doesn't thread. I've managed to bypass this with scaling one of the threaded parts by 1-2% but that scales the whole part.
I have a problem with a solid edge feature. Until a few days ago I had the opportunity to make threaded holes with the option of being able to activate the physical vision of the thread, but now it is gone.
I can confirm that the physical thread option works on the community edition. You may also want to try saving as step format for 3d printing. I think step has more information and it seems to work best for me with Orca.
