SoFi is fine for student loan refinancing. They offered me a slightly lower rate than Earnest or PenFed. Unless something's changed, there's no minimum finance charge and I paid mine off early with no issues. IIRC SoFi was offering a $300 bonus for refi too.
I refinanced 86,000$ with Citizens Bank (it was that or sofi) and I really did have an excellent smooth experience when I did it. I ultimately am not super happy with my rate but refinancing was really worth it and you should start as soon as possible!
Refinance 1: August 2016: SoFi/Mohela - $31,878 at a 6.25 rate with projected payable interest of 10k+ over 10 years. Once I had improved my credit a bit, and was able to show a bit more income on the books, I consolidated the remainder of my high-interest loans in April 2017.
