No cramps, no bleeding, no acne, no weight gain-zero side effects. I know my experience is in the minority, but I wanted to leave this review so others could see that not every person has issues with IUDs.
I took sertraline for 6 months and gained about 30 pounds. Weight gain is indeed a side effect of this medicine but 100 pounds in 13 months is extreme for your birth control and other meds. I would definitely talk to your doctor!
First, I was on Lo Loestrin Fe, which helped me have lighter, shorter periods with more manageable cramping. Prior to going on this pill, I had super heavy periods with debilitating cramps and horrible PMS symptoms, the worst of which was mood swings.
Side effects!? I got the Skyla IUD around 3 months ago and since then I gained around 10-15 pounds. In this time I’ve also been the most active I’ve ever been- reformer Pilates 3-4 times a week and walks/jogs 2-3 times a week.
