Find your Skyrim SE and SkyrimSE launcher in folder where you installed the game, right click and open properties, find compatibility tab and uncheck "Run this program as administrator".
SKSE will support the latest version of Skyrim available on Steam, and only this version (currently 1.9.32 with any other numbers following). It is extremely unlikely that any future non-SE Skyrim updates will be released. SKSE does not support the Windows Store/Game Pass release of Skyrim.
Next, reinstall the game and start it up without mods. Play it until you get control of your character in Helgen, save and quit. Next, install SKSE exactly as it says on the website, and start the game with the SKSE launcher. This will confirm if SKSE is working without any other mods.
You can start the game using SKSE from skse64_loader.exe. Compatibility: SKSE64 supports the releases of Skyrim on Steam and GOG. Other stores (EGS, Windows Store, Game Pass) are not supported. Installation (Manual) Download the SKSE Build for your game version from the Files tab.
Method 1: Non-Steam Game: Open your Steam library. On the bottom left corner, press ADD A GAME... From the options presented, choose Add a Non-Steam Game... Browse to [Skyrim SE]. Choose the SKSE64 loader executable (skse_loader.exe). Press ADD SELECTED PROGRAMS. The SKSE64 loader executable should now appear in your Steam library.
