16 maj 2024 · Here, you can see the chart bar width is too thin. Right-click on any of the bars. Select the Format Data Series option from the Context Menu. A Format Data Series dialog box will appear on the side of the Excel sheet. In Series Options, set the Gap Width to 30%. This makes the bars thicker.

14 cze 2011 · The problem typically happens when you have a chart with an X axis that is has date data and where you aren’t plotting every day but, instead, for example, one day a week. The solution is to click the X axis of the chart so that you have it selected, right click and choose Format Axis.
I'm using Excel 2007 and the bar charts created in previous versions of Excel are okay, just the ones created using 2007. The chart has a full quarter's worth of data by week. If I change the date range to just a couple of week, the bars are so thick they look like boxes, not bars. Answer. JE.
