Blackboard, Student Information System (SiS) and the NOW Student Dashboard are used by professors, staff and students on a daily basis.
If SiS lets you auth a Yubikey (or other physical security device) I'd recommend doing that rather than using Duo - no app, you just plug something in and tap the button.
Pros: UML is strong for engineering. It’s quite affordable (my main reason for attending), and Lowell isn’t all that bad of a city. It’s near Boston, and hockey is a big sport here if you like that. Cons: The food. If you live on campus, it’s almost certain that you’ll be forced to buy a meal plan. They’re expensive and the food quality is abysmal.
SiS is UMass Lowell's student information system and is used for everything from registering for classes, paying your bill, or viewing your financial aid package.
SiS is the campus database used to manage student academic data for admissions, registration, enrollment, billing and financial aid. Information available on the SiS database includes: Student self-service for course registration, academic records, billing, bill payments and financial aid awards.
Our Student Information System (SIS) enables students to access their academic courses and financial records, as well as register for courses, via the web. When you first apply into a program or register for a course, the University creates a student account for you in SIS.
The SiS application provides self-service functionality to to all faculty, students and guests. A variety of learning tools are available, including customized video demonstrations, interactive web tutorials and printable job aids.
