the last few times I've downloaded CC, my game won't launch. it goes to launch and then the origin window just pops up again. it won't tell me which file is causing it to not work, and unfortunately taking individual files out isn't working.
I accidentally installed a sims 2 cc into my sims 4 mods folder and now I keep getting the "Cannot start because the below file appears to be corrupted. If this file is a Mod please remove it and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via Origin." message whenever I try to open sims 4.
File explorer should look like: Sims4 -> Mods -> .package. If you end up downloading a lot of CC then you might want to make subfolders inside Mods like Hair/Clothing/etc. Then you can sort specific stuff into those, again by clicking and dragging.
You most likely have accidentally set your default opening program for .package files as Word. You can change that in your computer settings, or just ignore it if you don't plan on opening the files in a program such as Sims 4 Studio.
