5 mar 2021 · Move CustomWorld.world to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds. You will see SunsetValley.world in the same folder; Move the remaining .package files (if any) to your Mods\Packages folder; Test your game; Replace CustomWorld with the name of your Custom World Optional
To install the .world, cut/paste it from where you extracted it, usually into: [installation folder, NOT My Documents] \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 3 \ GameData \ Shared \ NonPackaged \ Worlds. ^ This is the folder for basegame and custom worlds.

As an aside, you can also use this method to install custom content in sims3pack format, such as clothes, objects, makeup, etc. into your game via the Mods folder instead of the launcher. This gives the added benefit of being able to easily find a piece of CC that you want to remove.
Some mods and custom content need to be extracted with 7zip (https://www.7-zip.org/) or another extracting tool and need to then be placed into (\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages) depending on how you have your mods folder setup to work and show up in game.
