13 lut 2024 · The choice of therapy of SIADH is dependent upon a number of factors including the degree of hyponatremia, the presence or absence of symptoms, the likelihood that the cause of SIADH is reversible, and to some degree, the urine osmolality.
6 mar 2023 · SIADH treatment involves correction and maintenance of corrected sodium levels and correction of underlying abnormalities such as hypothyroidism or pulmonary or CNS infection. The goal of sodium correction is more than 130 mEq/L.
1 lis 2009 · In this review we explore the limitations of the current treatment of SIADH and describe emerging therapies for the treatment of SIADH-induced hyponatraemia.
18 paź 2023 · Severely symptomatic SIAD leads to emergency treatment with 3% sodium chloride to reverse cerebral edema. Consultation with a specialist is warranted.
13 lis 2015 · Current treatment of hyponatremia in syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion often uses therapies with limited efficacy; the most commonly chosen monotherapy treatments, fluid restriction and isotonic saline, failed to increase the serum [Na +] by ≥5 mEq/L in 55% and 64% of monotherapy treatment episodes, respectively ...
Diagnosis is by measurement of serum and urine osmolality and electrolytes. Treatment is with water restriction, sometimes with oral or intravenous sodium chloride, and rarely with vasopressin receptor antagonist medications such as conivaptan or tolvaptan. SIADH can cause significant hyponatremia. (See also Water and Sodium Balance.)
18 lip 2023 · We review the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and differential diagnosis of syndrome of inappropriate antidiuresis and summarize recent evidence for therapeutic options beyond fluid restriction, with a focus on tolvaptan, urea, and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors.
