3 gru 2011 · For singer songwriters who want to play and sing at the same time, a pair of these combined with an SM7B or RE20 is the best starter kit I can imagine. And on a drum kit? If you want a larger than life sound of the whole kit, use an LDC or ribbon spaced pair.
3 paź 2016 · Shure SM81 is a brilliant choice for miking guitars although a bit costly. It gives you amazing definition with a rich, realistic low end and mind-blowing crispiness. Positioning of the mic is crucial, so take your time to try, and adjust if necessary.
The Shure SM81 is an industry standard microphone for recording acoustic guitar – in mono or as a pair for stereo recording. In my tests, I used just a single mic – a pair would have given a bigger sound, with a wider stereo image.
7 paź 2013 · SM81 are still great mics and can often be found used for much less than the new price. Very neutral frequency response. KSM141 are also very good, but a little "drier/more forward" sounding.
1 lis 2022 · Today I review another industry standard small diaphragm condenser microphone, the Shure SM81. This microphone offers a crazy flat frequency response that sounds natural and realistic. It offers a tolerable self noise for an SDC at 16dBa and has 2 very usable high pass filters and a -10dB pad.
4 lis 2014 · I have a pair of SM81 and love them on just about any application that involves an acoustic instrument. They're very flat and neutral, but very smooth way up in the highs. I don't have anything bad to say about them. Never used the Sennheiser though...
