Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) "Although these are some work, you'll be very proud of the results. These are those lovely, translucent dumplings you get at dim sum places. The tapioca flour and wheat starch can usually be found at good oriental food stores. These are best made in a bamboo steamer.
For the dough: Place the wheat starch in a bowl and gradually knead in small amounts of boiling water until mixture is supple and smooth. Roll out thinly and cut into 8-10 cm (approximately 3-4 inch) circles. For the filling: Mix the shrimp, ginger, sesame oil and onion together and season with salt and pepper.

1 maj 2016 · Shrimp Har gow is sometimes called as shrimp bonnet for its pleated shape. Traditionally, har gow should have at least seven and preferably ten or more pleats imprinted on its wrapper. I still need to practice on the pleating, as mine isn’t the most traditional looking har gow.
