Summary . There the once was a man and woman, who both really wanted a child, but did not have one. The wife became very sick, and wanted rampion to cure her, but it was only found in the witches garden. She sent her husband to get her some, and he eventually got caught.
Childless witch Gothel kidnapped baby princess Rapunzel to raise as her own daughter, locked in a tower to preserve the youth provided by a magically healing flower in her hair, that is still never cut when she grows up as a teenager.
Rapunzel Summary. Because a man steals rampion from a witch's garden, he and his wife are forced to give their new baby to the witch. The witch raises the child as her own. At the age of twelve, the child is locked in a tower with no doors or stairs.
Instantly the witch makes off with the baby, whom she names Rapunzel. When Rapunzel is 12, the witch imprisons her in a stone tower that has neither stairs nor a door. The witch herself can't visit Rapunzel unless the girl lets down her long braids to make a ladder.
In the twilight of the evening, he climbed over the wall into the garden of the witch, hastily grabbed a handful of rapunzel and took it to his wife. She at once made herself a salad and ate it happily.
