Introduction. The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The invention of the telegraph, telephone, radio, and computer set the stage for this unprecedented integration of capabilities.

The World Wide Web was invented in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee, a scientist at the European Particle Physics Laboratory (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. Lee wanted to make the information he used for research on the Internet more organized and accessible.
The historiography of the Web and the methodologies and sources used to write about it are also different. It is of course possible to find common roots in the vision of the “founding fathers”, particularly the vision expressed in the idea of libraries of the future or the Memex of Vannevar Bush.
