5 sie 2007 · I would think the sram X.7 if you have the opportunity to get a bike with that will offer much crisper shifting performance over the altus acera and alivio, but if you have to get an altus acera or alivio go with alivio it is the best of those three.
Acera is their entry line but still good quality. As far as crankset and derailleurs are concerned they’re definitely adequate for recreational riding and both will last. Shifters are a bit dependent on how often you shift, but for the most part they wear out on the quicker side.

I'm looking for a good 9-spd shifter and my choices are: (1) 2014 Shimano Alivio ST-M4000-R. This one is hard to find and costs about $60 after international shipping. (2) 2015 Shimano Acera T3000 ST-EF510-9R2A.
