The Sheep Lake Trailhead provides access to South Twin Lake (Albany County) and Sheep Lake. Sheep Lake is located off of the trail to the east at about the halfway point between the Deep Creek Campground and the Brooklyn Lake Campground.
Experience this 9.5-mile out-and-back trail near Centennial, Wyoming. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 38 min to complete. This trail is great for backpacking, birding, and camping, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
This direction also provides great views as you descend to lower elevations, including a view of Medicine Bow Peak to the southwest of Sheep Lake. Snow sticks around late in the year in Snowy Range. On July 4th weekend in 2016, the trail was intermittently under snow south of Sheep Lake.

Two of the prettier lakes in the area that don’t border the main Medicine Bow Peak are North Gap Lake and South Gap Lake. But beware, because it is often windy up at these two lakes. The hike is an out and back hike that is about 4 miles long.
