Posts: 1. i have a 1.19.4 server that i host from my pc. when i try to use the server on my laptop, when running server.jar i get "a java exception has occured" popup, despite having the same java version on both pcs, java 8, and it works on my desktop, how do i fix this ?
You can download it here https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk20-windows If you're worried about having two different Java installations, then you can uninstall Java Version 8 and everything will work the same.

25 mar 2023 · As pointed out in the comments, you may need a newer version of Java to run a Minecraft server. For example, you can download Java 17 on Oracle's Site, or from Adoptium (open source).
