Posts: 1. i have a 1.19.4 server that i host from my pc. when i try to use the server on my laptop, when running server.jar i get "a java exception has occured" popup, despite having the same java version on both pcs, java 8, and it works on my desktop, how do i fix this ?
After I realized this, I went back and copied and pasted the name of the server jar file (for me it was "minecraft_server.1.8.3.jar") under the correct directory and it worked perfectly! I just had to change Mojang's command from "minecraft_server.jar" to "minecraft_server.1.8.3.jar"...
On Linux and macOS this should already be set up but on Windows you might have to tinker with the PATH environment variable. Download minecraft_server.1.21.3.jar and run it with the following command:

Apparently, Java Version 8 (the one you linked to) won't work. The person in the video used JDK 16, but I downloaded JDK 20 and it seems to work well. You can download it here https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk20-windows
14 lip 2023 · Follow these steps to update your Minecraft server: Go to “ /Minecraft/Servers/ ” folder on your PC. Copy and save the “ Minecraft Server ” folder as a backup in another folder just in case. Find and delete the old “ server.jar ” file from the old “ Minecraft Server ” folder.
8 lip 2022 · Problem solved. IT IS the internet problem. Eventhough it failed when firstly install forge server/client, a folder named 'libraries' created in the target folder. Specifically, \libraries\net\minecraft\server, and it's empty.
