10 mar 2014 · In Exodus 17 there are a number of different people we hear about who all play a role in victory being won: Moses, Aaron, Hur, Joshua, and the unnamed men who are engaged in the battle in the valley. How would you describe what each person contributes to the cause?

12 cze 2016 · The Israelites were at Rephidim when we came to Exodus 17, but by the end of the chapter the place was renamed “Massah and Meribah”—“Testing-ville and Quarrels-burg”. They’re still there, and for the first time since crossing the Red Sea, they face opposition from without instead of within.
The Amalekites who fight with Israel in this verse would be his descendants. There was (and would continue to be) ongoing conflict between Jacob and Esau––Israel and Edom. The Israelites will encounter various foes in their wilderness wanderings.
Exodus 17:8-16. Theme: Divine help in spiritual warfare. Point: The Lord is able to give you the victory in every spiritual battle you face. Outline: Depend on the power of God (Exo 17:9-12). The importance of prayer is seen in the effect it had on the battle (v. 11).
Spiritual warfare is a reality for every believer. The forces of evil wage war against God’s kingdom agenda. There is no victory apart from engaging in battle. You cannot sit on the sidelines and just expect God to bail you out. Yet you also cannot fight in your own strength.
