The idea is to auto-level the gain on your analyzed tracks to the same gain level (it's user configurable). Some tracks will have very high or low gain settings for whatever reason, auto-gain trys to level it out.
If you have a EDM track playing (generally very powerful) and want to throw a classic rock riff over it (generally not very powerful, especially compared to EDM), Auto Gain will turn that classic rock tracks gain all the way up to match the EDM song.
Gain can be adjusted for your individual track, which may be loaded to the Virtual Deck or Sampler Slot. Adjustment ranges from -24dB to +24dB. To set the gain value to 0dB, control + click on the Track Gain Adjust. Serato DJ Pro will remember adjusted Track Gain value when the track is next loaded.
Use Auto Gain As part of the overview building process, Serato DJ automatically calculates an auto gain value for each track. This value represents the gain adjustment required to match the perceived loudness of the track to a reference level.
In Serato DJ we have an Auto Gain feature, which does this step automatically. Check it out in the manual. If your tracks peak just under maximum level, the master gain in Serato DJ should remain at 12'oclock.
If I use auto-gain for recording, will it potentially “squash” the dynamics of the tracks, or lower the quality? 2: I’m trying to figure out which volume knob to prioritize to ensure the songs don’t clip or distort. On my DDJ1000, there are the upfaders, the trim knobs, and the master volume knob.
26 lut 2010 · I didn't really know there was am auto gain. What I do is turn any track down that is in the red (these days that's about every track out there)... I turn it just bellow redline. Serato starts to distort when it's in the red. Once you've turned down the gain, it saves the information so you dont have to do it anymore. Does anyone use/do this ?
