I'm thinking of cancelling the SEIU 1000 membership because I'm not exactly sure what it is they do and because of the recent paycuts, I'm not sure it's worth it to keep. I feel like the rates only keep going higher. Does anyone have more knowledge or experience with the unions?
We are (mostly) one union, SEIU 1000 represents the lions share of state workers, divided into bargaining units that group like classes. What we really need are smaller unions/more locals so we can bargain more effectively for those represented.
