Scholastic Awards open for entries. December–January Deadlines vary by region and can be as early as December 1. Find your region. January–March Regional Awards are announced on the portal at the end of March. A Regional Program might choose to announce results earlier. June National Awards are announced July
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) are thrilled to announce the regional sponsorship of the 2024-2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
We celebrate creative teens regionally and nationally with awards, exhibitions, publications, and scholarships. All entries are first considered regionally for Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention awards. Entries that win a Gold Key are automatically considered for National Awards, including Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and scholarship awards.
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers is a nonprofit organization which manages the annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a competition that recognizes talented young artists and writers from across the United States.

Each year, the Alliance partners with more than 100 visual arts and literary arts organizations across the country to bring the Scholastic Awards to local communities. Teens in grades 7–12 (ages 13 and up) apply in 29 categories of art and writing.
