6 gru 2012 · I know it sounds hypocritical to run a camel humps and an alternator but it will be under the hood of '55 chevy so the non traditional sins will be hidden along with the Mallory Dist. I have set of 291 casting heads with no holes 2.02/ 1.60 valves to wake up the old 350.
2 gru 2020 · The way sbc alternators are usually mounted is one of three common ways. 1) Mounted on the driver's side, with the long bracket, and supporting bracket that mounts with the header/exhaust bolts. This is what you're saying you don't want. 2) Mounted on the passenger side, around the top of the motor.
26 lut 2010 · I've Drilled and Tap into the Head Casting to mount the Alternator and had no problem; however, GM does have a bracket which mounts to the Exhaust Studs to use the 69/70 pulley system but that Bracket is hard to find.

26 lip 2021 · Here is a factory setup for my 68 that would work with no accessory holes, right side mount . Since you have headers you would have to buy the adapter that is used for headers instead of the cast manifolds that have built in cast to mount the alternator and PS brackets.
Clean & prep threads on passenger side cylinder head (outside hole) and left side of water pump. Run a 3/8-16 thread chaser if necessary. Thread chasers are available at your local auto parts store or tool dealer and are different from a thread cutting tool.
• Positions the alternator on top of the engine, keeping it as low as possible for a top mounted bracket. • No drilling or tapping is required. The bracket mounts using only the 3 factory drilled holes on the front face of the head.
