Boating, fishing and swimming are available at nearby Sardine Lakes, less than a mile to the west. Sardine Lakes Resort offers boat rentals. Anglers will find rainbow and brook trout in many of the lakes, streams, and rivers throughout the basin.

Within walking distance from both the resort and the campground, you will find the local swimming hole, also known as the sand pond. The sand pond is great for swimming, rafting, kayaking and catching frogs and water snakes.

Swimming is not encouraged on Lower Sardine Lake as not to disrupt the fisherman. Boat rentals are available at Sardine Lake Resort, which sits right on Lower Sardine Lake.
Sardine Campground is located in a lodgepole pine forest with Sardine Lake nearby for fishing and swimming. This area offers an abundance of beautiful high mountain lakes surrounded by scenic rugged granitic ridges and glacially serrated rock outcroppings.
