However, there is a loop beyond the end of Viewridge Trail that reaches an overlook on sandstone outcroppings with panoramic views over Topanga and the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains.
The Santa Maria Canyon Trail is a short and relatively less traveled trail that provides users with both canyon and ocean scenery as it descends down into the canyon. Interesting features of the trail include several wooded groves and a footbridge where the trail crosses over Santa Maria Creek.
Topanga Canyon Blvd for 3.5 miles and then turn left onto Viewridge Rd. In 0.4 miles the trailhead will be on the right.
