Architecturally inspired by the Temple of Amon at Karnak, Egypt, the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum houses the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts on display in Western North America, including objects from pre-dynastic times through Egypt's early Islamic era, as well as Assyrian and Babylonian artifacts.
What a great hidden gem in San Jose! A perfect rainy day activity. $7 student tickets (they also have a AAA discount), well-maintained gardens (will have to check out again in more detail when it's not raining!), and an astounding number of really well-preserved ancient artifacts!
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! We look forward to having you join us! Purchasing tickets ahead of time will speed your entry into the museum. Tickets will also be sold at the door. We do not accept cash.
The museum offers a variety of exhibits related to King Tut and his legacy to modern-day culture along with some spiritual 'temp' exhibits related to ideals set forth by the Rosicrucian. Look them up if you haven't already to see what we're talking about.
