San Gimignano (Italian pronunciation: [san dʒimiɲˈɲaːno]; named after St. Geminianus) is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, north-central Italy.
San Gimignano lies on the Via Francigena (leg 31 and leg 32). From the town centre, it's around a three-hour walk to Gambassi Terme; alternatively, you can head south for about 30 km to reach Monteriggioni.
