Florida’s Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards for Mathematics were adopted by the State Board of Education on February 12, 2020. Additionally, on September 23, 2020 the SBE approved the amendment to Rule 6A-1.09412, Course Requirements – Grades K-12 Basic and Adult Secondary Programs.
These items include the Test Design Summary and Blueprint, Test Item Specifications and FSA Practice Tests. The 5th grade mathematics standards can be broken down into three major reporting categories as assessed on the 5th Grade Mathematics FSA with a corresponding weight.

These specifications are based upon Rule 6A-7.0710, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). This document specifies the requests for the 2021-2022 Florida instructional materials adoption for K-12 mathematics. Publishers should review this information carefully.
