18 maj 2011 · If you haven't tried this, you can setup your Gmail account using the Mac Mail app. That way you won't have to use Safari to access web based mail. Open the Mac Mail app. From the menu bar click Mail / Preferences then select the Accounts tab. Click + and add in your Gmail account details.

When I try to log into that account through Apple's Mail app, I get a dialog box telling me that Mail needs to finish the log in via Safari. So I click the "Open Safari" button -- and nothing happens (except the button grays out).
