Fist size rust holes repaired on the rim of my 1952 Ferguson TO-30 Tractor.
4 kwi 2016 · REMOVE TIRE AND TUBE from rim, take a chunk of steel similar thickness as the rim and weld it over the rusted area where the valve stem was. Then find a spot on the rim that isn't rusted and drip a new 1/2" hole.
21 mar 2007 · The inside of one of the rims is badly rusted. I used a needle scaler which did a good job at removing the rust. The needle scaler didn't knock any holes through the metal, but the surface is rough and pitted. These are the spin-out rims, and would be very costly to replace.
11 lip 2004 · To fix the rusted spot, buy some 3/16 flat bar at the hardware store in several widths. More than likely the rusted out spot is by the valve stem since they often leak fluid there. That means there might be several "steps" in the rim as it goes in profile from outside to inside.
