Almost all Soviet immigrants to the U.S. (1970's-early 2000's) are Jewish. Cleveland is also home to Jewish owned Russian grocery stores, the largest being Yeleseyevsky Deli, as well as hundreds of FSU-Jewish owned and Russian speaking businesses such as restaurants, retail stores, jewelers, pharmacies, and private warehouses. The primary activity of the Cleveland Jewish Archives is to collect print and non-print material that documents the history of the Jewish community of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. This material is then made available to the public for educational purposes.
