A runway incursion is any occurrence at an airport where an aircraft ends up on the protected surface designated for landing and takeoff without ATC permission. Other surface incidents include occurrences where an aircraft crosses a non-movement area marking onto a taxiway without ATC authorization.
This course uses a simulation of an actual runway incursion to help pilots understand runway safety issues and develop good safety practices to mitigate common causal factors of runway incursions.
