17 cze 2008 · Runt packets are packets that are less than the minimum packet size (64 bytes for Ethernet). They often occur due to collisions on the line. On switches the cause is usually a mis-matched duplex problem (full on one end and half on the other) caused by bad autodetection of a device.

22 cze 2009 · If runts and Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) errors are incrementing in the show interface command output, or Frame Check Sequence (FCS) errors and runts are incrementing in the show port command output, check the port speed and duplex settings.
11 kwi 2014 · One thing that can produce runts is a mismatch of duplex settings. I see that your switch port is operating in full duplex mode. I suggest that you check with whatever is connected and see whether that device is operating in half duplex mode. HTH . Rick
20 lis 2022 · I have a 3560G switch and I have a lot of runts on the interface that connects to my home router. I also have a desktop connected to it and there are no runts on that interface. Is this a problem with my isp or a poorly configured interface?
28 sie 2012 · I am getting input errors/runts on 2 of my gigabit interfaces that connect to our WAN service provider's network. In relation to total packets, its not a large number, so its probably not a big deal, but I'd just like to find the source so I stop seeing the errors in Solarwinds.
