I only go under the ceiling for nether fortress loot and briefly to get magma blocks, crimson nylium (for nether tree farm), and warped fungus (for hoglin farm). Also, I've built ian's gold farm using only stone/iron pickaxes purely to get it as an XP source early game.
XP Farms 1.18.1 (java) Hi guys, I'm currently streaming a Minecraft series with some Friends on a 24/7 server on aternos. I tried the old fashion like farm that goes 21 blocks up but it does not work very efficiently, I read about the potatoes farm or the kelp farm but did not find any good resource on how to build it correctly.
