28 sty 2021 · Most hemlock is sold rough-sawn and green, given that it is predominantly used in farm buildings. This is perfectly acceptable in drafty out buildings, because installed green, hemlock will dry in place, which counteracts its tendency to twist as it dries.
Eastern Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) is moderately lightweight, moderately hard, coarse grained, and uneven in texture. It can be used in construction for light framing, sheathing, subflooring, and roofing. Also great for raised garden beds. All timbers are stocked rough sawn. We can dress all our timbers on all four sides.
SOFTWOOD & HARDOOD. We operate our sawmill multiple times a week, ensuring we keep a fresh stock and full inventory for your convenience. ROUGH CUT PINE AND HEMLOCK. Our 1" and 2” rough cut framing stock is manufactured from hemlock and pine. We stock 1 and 2-inch material in our yard.
We saw locally harvested Eastern Hemlock and Pine in our mill. This is rough, unseasoned, untreated green lumber. It is suitable for exterior use as detailed below. Hemlock is used for raised garden beds. As it dries, this lumber will check and will shrink in width.
